[8-11-2006] The Basque company DTS-Oabe enters the world elite of technology

The company was chosen New Corporate member by The World Technology Network during the summit that took place in San Francisco (USA) the 2nd and 3rd of November. Their election is due to the manufacture of a lacquer insecticide that does not contaminate

San Francisco (California, USA).- The Company DTS Oabe, located in the Basque town of Orozko, has entered the world elite of technology because of the fact that they have been chosen new corporate members of The World Technology Network (WTN) during the World Technology Summit 2006 organized in San Francisco (California, USA) during the 2nd and 3rd of November.

This membership is due to the manufacture of a lacquer insecticide that is non-pollutant (Nupilac Hidro). For this product they had already won The European Business Award for the Environment in Brussels, the National Award in Madrid and The Basque government award in Vitoria.

This innovating product, that was selected from over more than 130 nominees of 23 european countries, reflects the commitment of this young company with sustainable development. Nupilac Hidro is designed with the objective of reducing or eliminating the environmental inconveniences that traditional lacquers had. It has no skin or respiratory toxicity, its not flammable, and has no VOC's emissions. An important characteristic is that it can be applied in schools, hospitals or catering establishments with no need of closing once the product has been applied.

The project presented by DTS Oabe was already awarded by the Entorno Foundation in January, witch organizes the Spanish scheme for the European Business Award, from out of more than 75 Spanish companies.

The jury recognized “the innovative aspect of this insecticide applied in a lacquer, which limits any cross-pollution, is not damaging to human health, requires five times less insecticide, with no emissions of VOC’s and with long-term efficiency. There is a vast replication potential in particular in low toxicity environments like schools, hospitals and catering establishments.”

DTS-Oabe's “Nupilac Hidro” has also been awarded by the Basque Government, witch recognized their important contribution a few months before.

Even though the company is only 2 years old and has 5 employees, DTS-Oabe has overrun important companies of the sector and has positioned itself, in the fulfillment of the sustainable development principals, at the level of mayor companies.
